In 1999, I purchased my first studio, our Downey location, from the previous owner. With the help of my family, friends, staff and with a lot of love and big dreams, we have built Onstage Dance Center into what it is today: a studio filled with over 400 talented students. In 2007, I opened the doors to our second studio in Los Alamitos with the same big dreams and have watched it grow.
I believe that dance is essential to every child's development. They will learn balance, strength, grace, commitment and determination that will help them become successful in whatever they choose to do. Our goal is to provide quality training and education in the art of dance for every child who walks through our doors.
Over the past 13 years, this studio has produced many talented students who have gone on to attend OCSHA School of Performing Arts, performed on nationally ranked high school dance teams, performed on college dance teams, have participated in pageants, have acted on television (currently Kaitlyn Jenkins on ABC Family's "Bunheads" and Miranda Cosgrove on Nickelodeon's "iCarly") in numerous commercials and have competed on "So You Think You Can Dance".
When I look back on the last 20 years of dancing, teaching and owning this studio, I am humbled and honored to have all of you wonderful families and talented staff in my life. This dance center would not be ODC without you. It's such a lovely sight to see former dancers walk in with their children to take their first dance class and former students now teaching as part of our faculty. I can't thank you enough for being a part of our dance program and becoming part of Onstage Dance Center history.
